  • He has trained and disciplined his body, mind, and spirit starting from childhood to the current day with several skilled teachers and has become an elite martial artist.
  • His father fostered in him a love for American and Hong Kong action films which they would regularly watch together.
  • When he was in high school, he was team captain in gymnastics and competed in the Okayama Prefecture tournament for 3 years. He had also enrolled in a Karate school and that was his first martial arts experience. He used to train every weekend to hone his skills with the urge and goal to move to Hollywood.
  • Koyamada used to live in Japan. In mid-June 2000, he got himself enrolled in the ESL program at the University of California in Riverside and later that year he shifted to Hollywood alone, not knowing anybody, having nowhere to stay, and not even knowing how to speak English. He started going to a Chinese martial arts school in Los Angeles and began to train in Northern Shaolin Kung Fu for 5 hours every day and 6 days a week.
  • He holds black belts in Japanese and Korean martial arts and has also won a U.S. national championship in Chinese martial arts.
